Hello everyone,
My name is Brandon, and I’m an Italian tutor from Sicily!
I love teaching and consider it a true way of life. Since I was a child, I’ve always stood by those who were weaker, trying to support them. I realized that among the “most helpless” were foreigners — adults and children who, once they arrived in Italy, lost their “voice and hearing” (symbolically speaking). They could no longer communicate, which placed them in a condition of great vulnerability and psychological struggle.
Some people tried to help them, but few succeeded; many others stayed indifferent or simply watched from a distance with curiosity; others even mocked them, taking pleasure in seeing them struggle.
In my heart, a flame burned with the intensity of a red giant star. I decided that one day I would do something to help them. But I was only eight years old, and at that time, all I could do was comfort someone who was crying and be friendly and curious toward everyone — eager to get to know them and understand what they wanted to say.
Everything around me seemed to move in the opposite direction — local trends, the academic path I was later forced to take... But I didn’t care, because every time I helped someone understand something (whether it was language, science, history, or psychology), I felt alive. My inner light turned on, and it wasn’t just me who benefited — the other person also gained something beyond the concepts we were discussing.
Not long after, I developed serious health problems, and my future became very uncertain — I was only 18 or 19 years old. Despite everything, I devoted much of my energy to a long and daily emotional and linguistic-cultural exchange with people from many different countries. It was an incredibly formative experience, and I was finally fulfilling, in some way, the desire of my heart.
Over time, I developed an approach and a method based on practice and emotion, and I officially began teaching.
I named my approach “LA BUSSOLA ITALIANA® 🧭🇮🇹” (The Italian Compass) — it has been a great help to many people, and that makes me truly happy 🤲🏻🤲🏻🤲🏻
