Introduction
Diligently learning large amounts of vocabulary and grammar rules, doing many exercises, and listening to pre-packaged dialogues essentially means piling “dead information” into our memory. Since this information lacks vitality, it will soon be forgotten. There is a major difference between “memorising information” and “developing an awareness of use.”
Generally, many students I meet tell me that they have studied grammar and passed certain tests, yet despite this, they are unable to communicate or understand others, and this makes them feel deeply uncomfortable. From my point of view, these people show serious linguistic difficulties, accompanied by a very weak awareness of the language itself. Their minds are full of previously accumulated information that they don’t know how to use, which leaves them confused and prone to forgetting.
In fact, most language tests tend to evaluate memorised information: theory, grammatical mechanisms, and vocabulary. All elements that rely heavily on what is called “short-term memory,” but which do not create real competence in usage.
Actual mastery of a language — the ability to speak, understand, interpret context, and construct meaning — arises through direct experience and the development of logical-emotional connections, which together involve more complex neuro-functional processes.
This gradually stimulates the formation of a “functional neuroplasticity,” meaning a portion of interconnected neurons trained to perform a specific activity; a sort of dedicated computational area that grants autonomy in carrying out a task in a fluid and conscious way.
My approach is aimed precisely at this: helping you develop a real awareness and usage ability that will remain yours over time, because it becomes physically part of you.
This method, which I have named LA BUSSOLA ITALIANA (The Italian Compass), views language learning as a logical-emotional experience, lived along a journey that is both individual and shared. It allows one to discover not only a different way of expressing oneself, but also another side of one’s own inner world.
It is the result of my natural way of being and of long-standing experience, which I continue to shape through a profound personal path.
Today it is protected by industrial property rights and includes numerous exclusive digital creations that are constantly being updated.
Unique learning materials
I have created over 70 exclusive PDFs, in which I explain grammar through a logical-emotional lens. Behind grammar rules, in fact, there are also human intentions and habitual ways of expressing oneself that must be understood.
The Italian language is highly modular, and to guide you more effectively through its various components, I created color-coding charts, so that each important element is highlighted with a specific color, and added numerous practical examples showing how to put everything into practice.
Another part of my learning material includes cheerful and emotionally engaging stories, as well as many songs. We will imitate different characters, sing famous songs that are part of Italian culture, and I will tell you more about their meaning and about the history of the singers.
In addition, depending on the skills you need to refine, I always have an exercise to propose—one you can do on your own or together with me!
The importance of pronunciation
A language is first and foremost sound, not written text. Each one has its own rhythm and its own sonic imprint, and understanding its dynamics helps us resonate with it.
Each of us, when approaching a new language, instinctively tends to rely on the pronunciation criteria of our native tongue, and this causes major disadvantages and difficulties. To help you with this as well, I created a unique mini-course in diction, with a color-coding system. Getting used to the typical pronunciation and sound takes time, so I constantly integrate this aspect from the beginning to the end of our learning path together. It really works! Try it and you’ll see!
We will observe together how native speakers articulate sound in such a fluid and distinctive way. This will not only improve your pronunciation, but also enhance your listening skills and the overall efficiency of your learning, because it allows you to catch important details from the very first months—both consciously and unconsciously—through the auditory channel, something you wouldn’t be able to do otherwise.
The value of conversation
I care deeply about mutual interaction—it's something I simply cannot give up! I’m always curious to hear what you have to say, I answer your questions, and at the same time I take note of the words you don’t know and patiently explain them to you. I can’t wait to meet you! We’ll have a lot of fun, you’re very welcome!
Furthermore, I help you build a linguistic environment in which you can immerse yourself even after the lesson, so that you can come into contact with examples of living language whenever you want; this will help you make solid, long-term progress.
A personalised path and constant support
I pay particular attention to students’ needs and personal goals. There is space for everyone: from those starting from zero to those who want to improve their abilities. In addition, I offer continuous support even outside the lessons, answering doubts for free and offering advice. Learning a language is a journey no less complex than any other important commitment in life, and I will be by your side as your linguistic guide and adventure companion.
Passion and dedication
For me, teaching is not just a job but a lifestyle to which I dedicate all my energy. Every time someone learning with me makes progress, I feel deeply moved—sometimes even to the point of tears. Whatever your starting level, if you desire to develop awareness and mastery of this language, and to discover how stimulating and rewarding this journey can be, I will be happy to help you!
